    Hey Mr. Chandler,
I will be doing individual programs besides the 2 weekly assignments but will try my best to also answer those. I would like to do a full research paper on,”Computer created music: A development or destruction to music”. I will research this topic ’til the end of the semester if possible.

  10. Anna Dembele says:

I did all three of the homeworks but they didn’t show up…Do you have to accept them first?

  11. Nana says:

Paul, I really like the song. The beat actually sounds a bit familiar but yeah it’s nice.

  12. Ike says:

Hey paul Great song, I loved how you traveled from one beat to another and the piano usage keep it up 😀

  13. junior says:

guys, i think we have between us a future David Guetta

  14. junior says:

Maple Leaf Rag comment i think its really anoying and it has great inspiration. i like the instruments and the rithm. i feel like its a song about a guy who wake up in the morning. thats how i feel like i dont know why

  15. Ike says:

Maple Leaf Rap- Reminds me of a cartoon I would watch (Tom and Jerry) which brought back good memories.
Lonely Woman- Gives me this feeling that I’m living through the book Their eyes were watching god.
Main Stem- Has a casual Jazz rythm/style and has a great Saxophone solo!
Blue Monk- Sounds to me a little more blues style and has a good drum.
Birdland- Great song, has a type of electro start which blends in with the jazz, also makes me think of an 50-60s party song, reason is that it’s a little too long.

    • Paul Wennink says:

Maple Leaf- This is a song to a happy mood. Through all the poverty and ups and downs of the society there is still this joy which touched a lot of people back then and even today. Because of the high notes that are put into a “Funny” combination I experience a trip that bring me through my good memories that make me laugh. This is a mood increases.

Lonely Woman- A great song that I prver listening to on a rainy day. The song totally fits the tital as the long notes and soft background drums represent the lonesome woman. To me the saxophone through the calm beat represent the emotions of the lonely woman. To me every one experiences being a lonely woman, I think it’s just called woman because men are not as comfortable showing their emotions. Great song.

Bird Land- One of the first introdoctions of a more electronic bass. I love how the jazz blends in. I don’t have a clear idea about what it’s about, maybe its birds flying through different environment. Like your environment changes but it’s up to you how you handle it. Some make you feel sad others make you feel happier.

This were my thoughts about these three songs feel. Every one has a different feeling they get from Jazz it’s like art.Your idea about the piece can change the whole meaning. I did not listen to the others yet cause of the bad internet. I’ll do that tomorrow.

      -Paul

  16. Ariel says:

Maple Leaf rag: Happy melody- played like two people on a piano- one playing a continuous peice, the other playing more freely.
Lonely Woman: More deep and questioning melody
Main Stem: A song you could listen everyday- a bit changing- but not too much emphasis
Blue Monk: Casual song- with a changing rhythm
Birdland: Great song- start differently- as if modernized- but falls into the main melody
